IT Parken at Aarhus University
When IT Parken at Aarhus University was to move into new premises, the main focus was on the study environment. The students were asked about their wishes regarding the design and the facilities. This resulted in a number of useful recommendations, in terms of concrete requests for access to power and networks, but also a more abstract wish for a place to spend time between lectures. Duba-B8’s Design Team and the architect Stinne Bjerre MAA based their design proposal on the user survey’s conclusions. As a result, the institute is not just a place for study, but also a social gathering point.
There are plenty of bright colours, in a relaxed, modern style, with individual study desks and space for concentration or communication, besides group work and socialising. IT Parken at Aarhus University has it all. All the different zones are designed to appeal to the students and allow them to concentrate on their studies, and also to meet their fellow students.
