2016 sees the seventh year of Clerkenwell Design Week (CDW), which is taking place between the 24th and 26th May. Since its debut in 2009, CDW has helped to put this historical London neighbourhood firmly on the map, playing host and showing off its wares to over 35,000 visitors from across the UK and around the world. The festival enables Clerkenwell to foster its long tradition as home to the creative industries. It has the highest density of architects and creative industries per square mile than anywhere else in the world, many of whom occupy buildings that craft workshops, printmakers, clockmakers and jewellers have inhabited since the Industrial Revolution.
CDW presents hundreds of businesses with an opportunity to showcase their latest innovations and the festival hosts a series of varied fringe events, too. Scandinavian Business Seating, whose showroom has been part of the festival’s official trail in recent years, is opening its doors once again for CDW 2016. Its HÅG brand is joining forces with health and safety consultancy COSAFE LIMITED to deliver a Workstation Wellbeing Clinic on Wednesday 25th May, looking at how to work healthy.
COSAFE LIMITED’s expert consultants will be on hand to deliver free, one-to-one sessions aimed at HR, Facilities and Office Managers, who want to ensure that their workspaces – and the furniture within them – are working to their full potential in delivering benefits to employees. Jac Koumi, Director and Lead Consultant at COSAFE LIMITED says, “combining fantastic design with good practice ensures that excellent products are used to their very best potential. This means that employers have a happy and healthy workforce and see value for money, while their staff have a high quality of work life and feel supported in the workplace. COSAFE LIMITED is excited to be participating alongside SB Seating in CDW 2016. It is the first time that we are taking part in the festival as a host and we look forward to engaging with visitors and exhibitors alike”.
With “wellbeing” currently trending as a topic in the world of work, the sessions will look at how organisations can deliver this realistically, both in the physical and psychological sense of the word. Whether the workspace is a hot-desk in an office, a workstation at home, or a table in the local café, the 20-minute clinics will also advise on specific issues, such as best practice guidelines for healthy working, managing pain and other conditions, how to incorporate more movement into the working day, including sit-stand, and how to get the maximum benefit from ergonomic furniture and accessories. COSAFE’s consultants will also look to dispel some myths and buzzwords that are often banded about within the industry and by the media, answering any questions relating to wellbeing at work.
A healthy breakfast will be available at the sessions, which will be taking place in 20-minute slots between 8:30am and 11:30am. Places are limited and will be reserved on a first-come-first-served basis, so please book your slot using the following link: http://bit.ly/1NkK2H5
